About Me

Jennifer Ginsberg

Hi, my name is Jennifer Ginsberg and welcome to my practice. Congratulations on taking the first step on the path towards healing. My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and guide you towards living a life of freedom and joy.

Sex and love addicts are not bad people trying to get good. They are sick people desperate to get well. In order to recover, you must find a therapist who understands this. In our sessions, you will feel safe enough to be rigorously honest with me, without fear of judgement. I will match your addiction with the compassion and discernment it needs in order to heal!

As an LCSW and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist trained at The International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, I've had the incredible privilege of providing therapeutic services for over 20 years, specializing in treating sex addiction, codependency, love addiction, substance abuse; and of course, I specialize in processing all the underlying emotional content (trauma, grief and pain) that fuels the addictive, self destructive behaviors.

As your therapist, I will be your greatest ally as we work to shed your addictive and destructive behaviors, identifying the causes and conditions that are causing you pain. Together, we will work to achieve your goals and bring purpose to your life. You will become free of toxic shame. You will gain self-love and self-acceptance. You will experience the joy of healthy, reciprocal relationships. You will experience freedom and purpose. Life will have meaning and hope.

I work with individuals, couples, partners of addicts and run gender-specific intimacy groups. Immediate results from therapy are self empowerment and learning that is expanded and reinforced with assessments, optional exercises, journaling and self inventories. Because you are unique, I individualize treatment that is optimal for you, customizing an approach that will create a therapeutic bond while processing underlying trauma, In this space, healthy coping skills are developed, attachment wounds are repaired and healing happens. My therapeutic style is highly supportive of 12-step recovery programs. I gratefully bring over two decades of personal and professional experience to my clients, evidenced by my education (double masters in clinical Social Work from USC and Jewish Communal Service from HUC), training, and life practice which is what drew me to the field years ago, when I was retained to lead the clinical programs at a residential treatment center.

It takes courage to ask for help; reaching out to a therapist that will care enough to challenge you to grow can change the course of your life! I look forward to walking this journey with you.

Please feel free to contact me!
